Kitties are very self-sufficient, which is one thing that we usually love about them. There is a downside here, though, especially when it comes to their nail care habits. Cats are very driven to take care of their claws. This makes sense, as they do rely on their little paw daggers for hunting and defense in the wild. However, it can be frustrating to realize that your cute little pet has shredded your chair.

Make sure that your feline pal has a good scratching post. Cat towers are great for this, as your kitty will also gain a napping spot and vantage point out of the deal. You can also use scratching boards. Ideally, your kitty’s manicure station should be tall enough to allow her to stretch while she is doing her nails. Putting toys and catnip around the post will help make it more appealing for her.
